What is Relay?

Join us
Relay for Life is our flagship event that brings together the York University community to raise funds and awareness for cancer. During the event, there is food, games, sports, music, and more!
It is also a time to honour and remember those who have been affect by cancer. After the opening ceremony, the event begins with the Survivor Lap, where cancer survivors guide everyone for a lap around the track. For the rest of the event, participants within each team take turns walking around a track, symbolizing the ongoing impact of cancer. Remember, cancer does not stop, and neither should we!
There is also the Luminary Ceremony, where candles are placed in special bags that have the names of cancer survivors or loved ones who have had cancer.
This year, Relay for Life YorkU is happening OVERNIGHT! From 7 PM - 7 AM, join us for an amazing time!

- A BBQ dinner and all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast
- Minigames
- A volleyball and dodgeball tournament with a $150 cash prize

Here's is how to enter:
1, Sign up for Relay for Life at relayforlife.ca/yorku, and you'll automatically receive one entry into the draw.
2. For every $20 raised, you'll earn an additional entry into the draw.
3. As a special bonus, when you reach $100 in donations, you'll receive ANOTHER entry!
The more you raise, the more entries you'll collect, and the higher your chances of winning the PS5! Remember, every dollar raised helps to support cancer research, prevention, and support services for those affected by cancer.

One of the most fun and memorable parts of Relay for Life is the opportunity to dress up and get creative with your team. In past years, teams have dressed up in all kinds of costumes and themes, from pirates and superheroes to dinosaurs and unicorns.
